Channel Letters

Channel Letters

Channel letters are the sign most people picture on a storefront: individual fabricated letters, lit from inside, mounted on the facade. We build the returns, fit the LED modules, and handle the mounting and wiring, so one crew owns the whole result.

Face-lit, halo-lit, or both

Face-lit letters push light through an acrylic face and read hardest from the road. Halo-lit letters throw light back onto the wall and read as a premium, quieter look. A combination does both, and costs accordingly.

Flush mount or raceway

Flush mounting puts each letter directly on the wall with the wiring behind it, which is the cleanest look but means more penetrations. A raceway is a single painted channel that carries the letters and the power, which many landlords and older facades require.

Lit to stay lit

LED modules are specified for the letter depth and the face colour, and the power supply is sized with headroom instead of run at its limit. That is the difference between a sign that still reads evenly after a few winters and one with a dark letter in the middle.

Questions

Before you ask us

Do I need a permit?

Almost always for exterior illuminated signage, and the requirements differ by city and by shopping-centre landlord. Tell us the address early and we will factor the review time into the schedule.

How long is fabrication?

Fabrication is measured in weeks, not days, because the returns, faces, and lighting are built to your letterforms. Permit review is usually the longer pole.

Ready to get started?

Send the project type, location, size, and timeline. We will come back with a quote.
